The MAGIC 2010 Robotics Competition asks teams to develop robots to explore indoor and outdoor environments, identify and track humans, and detect objects of interest. We are building robots with advanced sensor hardware and perception software that allows the robots to operate without human assistance.

Nov. 17, 2010 We won! Our team of 14 robots has earned us $750k.

Nov. 16, 2010 Team has arrived in Brisbane for the Land Warfare Conference. The winners will be announced tomorrow (waiting is the hardest part!). In the mean time, we're unwinding a bit-- went to a wildlife sanctuary yesterday, and the gold coast is on the agenda for today!

Nov. 10, 2010 Team and robots performed very well! We don't actually find out who won for a few more days though!

Nov. 9, 2010 We've just delivered our technical presentation in preparation for tomorrow's contest run. The team is in good spirits after some nice test runs today.

Nov. 5, 2010 Just a few days to go before the competition, and things are looking pretty good!

Oct. 9, 2010 Wheels up! Team is en route to Australia!

Oct. 6, 2010 Sixteen robots have arrived in Australia and cleared customs!

July 31, 2010 Team Michigan goes to Makerfaire in Detroit and receives an "Editor's Choice" award

July 26, 2010 Team Michigan is named one of six finalists in the MAGIC 2010 Competition. We're off to Australia to compete for $1.1M in prize money!
